The Academy

Developed with the highest level of artistic excellence, our program supports dancers interested in taking multiple dance classes per week in different styles. The Academy program is centered around a strong ballet curriculum but will allow dancers to explore other genres of dance. This program offers the opportunity to tailor schedules based on their age and technical needs. Although this program offers some “flexibility” to the dancers’ schedule, a certain level of commitment will be expected for the dancer to gain something from their training. A placement class is required

Tumbling Program

Our tumbling is very much geared toward progressions. We break down the skills into smaller more achievable steps. We work on memorizing the basic gymnastics positions. Jumping on two feet and muscle control through balance. We only focus on the tabletop and not the bridge due to the strain on their backs at such a young age. In the beginning, we introduce backward skills making sure to lift them by their hips.

The primary class is a step up to putting those progressions together to complete the skills. We will move from skills on an incline to the floor mat. We also introduce the bridge after age 4. Running skills and backward skills on the flat floor mat. We will also use progressions if needed.

Intermediate and advanced will run through a list of skills weekly and we try to encourage them and build confidence through conditioning in strength and flexibility. We expect much more follow-through and less need for me to spot them.
Many more difficult skills require drills to help with body awareness and muscle memory.

Circus Arts Program

Classes will cover aerial technique, fundamentals, and theory, and emphasize gaining the right kind of strength and active flexibility for aerial. We will begin each class with ground conditioning and then move on to new aerial skills and phrases, with a focus on increasing our vocabulary and our understanding of the apparatus with deliberate progressions and individual feedback. Classes are offered in 6-week sessions.
