Director for Dance at Millbrook School & Executive Director at the d’amby project

Dancers ages 6 and up will have the opportunity to explore Modern/ Contemporary Movements in a classroom environment that will allow them to gain insight on the way their body moves.

Leighann provides a fun environment that allows dancers to feel comfortable to explore. Classes will include a warm up, movements across the floor and choreography.

Dates & Times:

  • Thursday, March 12th
    • 5:00-6:15 pm (Ages 6-9)
  • Friday March 13th
    • 4:45-6:15pm  (Ages 10 & Up)

Please arrive 15 min. before class to check in at front desk

Cost:

  • $10.00 Studio/NOLA DANCE PROJECT Members
  • $20.00 Non-Studio Members
Attire:
Dancers should wear black leotard, pink tights, black leggings. Hair must b pulled back away from the face.

 

About our Instructor:

IMG_9466Leighann Kowalsky is an NYC based choreographer known for her interdisciplinary dance work. She is co-founding director of The D’amby Project (touring performance company & collaborative arts organization). Her work as choreographer has been included in Steps on Broadway’s Emerging Artist’s LabWorks Series. Notably, Kowalsky developed & oversees the Dance & Circus Arts Programming at Millbrook School, a co-educational boarding school based in the Hudson Valley. She has also been a resident artist at DANCEHOUSE Dublin, guest choreographer at numerous companies & universities, and company dancer with Erick Hawkins Dance Company. She is also a freelance educator, creative content consultant, and aerialist.

The Studio School of Dance,along with its youth company NOLA DANCE PROJECT, are thrilled to once again provide the New Orleans dance community with some amazing master classes. Since its inception in 2015, our Master Class Series has provided young dancers with the opportunity to not only take class from professionals of all styles of dance but have had the ability to build long-lasting relationships with them.
