Class descriptions

What happens in each class

Foundation classes introduce clear technical concepts while giving young dancers room to explore different styles and discover what they enjoy.

Ballet

Foundational barre and center work develops posture, alignment, coordination, musicality, ballet vocabulary, and the technical habits that support every dance style.

Jazz

Dancers build rhythm, coordination, isolations, kicks, turns, and age-appropriate combinations. Ballet training supports the strength and placement needed for Jazz.

Contemporary

Guided movement exploration introduces musicality, expression, changes of level and direction, floor work, and the connection between technique and creativity.

Hip Hop

Age-appropriate choreography, grooves, rhythm, and dynamic movement help dancers build coordination, confidence, musicality, and individual style.

Tumbling

Progressive floor skills build strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and body control in a structured dance-studio setting.

Turns & Leaps

This supplemental class breaks down spotting, alignment, takeoff, landing, and traveling skills so dancers can practice turns and jumps with greater control.

Art & Dance Fitness

Supplemental experiences encourage creativity, conditioning, coordination, and a broader connection to movement and artistic expression.

Class availability varies by season, age, and level. Our faculty will recommend the combination that best supports your dancer.

  • A clear progression of skills instead of rushing through levels
  • Placement based on readiness—not age alone
  • Communication when a different level or class would better support growth
  • Room to explore dance while balancing school, family, and other interests

For parents

What you can expect

Foundation training is purposeful without losing the warmth, creativity, and encouragement young dancers need.

Questions families ask

Helpful details before you begin

Placement is personal. Our team is always happy to learn about your dancer and recommend the right class.

Does my dancer need to choose one style?

No. Families can choose a schedule that matches the dancer’s interests and readiness. Exploring more than one style can support versatility and confidence.

How many classes should my child take?

Foundation dancers typically train about one to two hours per week. The right schedule depends on age, goals, experience, and faculty recommendation.

What happens after Foundation?

As dancers mature, they may progress into Academy or another pathway that matches their goals, readiness, and desired training frequency.

Can a beginner join?

Yes. We welcome beginners and will recommend an appropriate class where the dancer can feel successful and continue progressing.
